Tales of d’Lands is a documentary piece about life within Belfast’s well known student area. Having lived there for two years, I wanted to show the multitude of pros and cons about living there. The Holylands in Belfast always had a bad reputation and yet I  found myself falling in love with this most unique situation. To me it felt as though we were our own small community cast off from the rest of the world. It was a shithole but we were kings in that shithole.

Taken in the Autumn and Winter of 2021, Tales of d’Lands was created to give a more honest depiction of life as a student in Belfast’s infamous student area, The Holylands. The original images were taken on a Nikon D3400 and then altered to look like an instant camera print.This was to create a more romantic vibe to the original project as to represent the love I had with the area during that time.
